Bits and Pieces
Passion is the second solo exhibition of the artist Ariadne Faries. Her paintings cry for attention, but are not read in one sitting. Ariadne admits that she is guided during the work process and often does not know in advance what she will put on the canvas. The painting gradually emerges. And so you should read it slowly too, because little by little, you discover, feel and understand her passion. Her method is, for many, difficult to understand because we are keen think in advance what we are going to draw. For example: "I want to draw a rose,” and then you draw a rose on paper. But why, and moreover, it is not always so. Not everything is so clear. Because, how do I paint passionate notions of hope, joy, frustration and confusion? Ariadne shows us her way.
Ariadne experiences and discovers herself bit by bit. It is the quest for understanding her own feelings that continues for the artist in this exhibition. The development of her work is incremental but is clearly present.
